Prospect announces new hires as it accelerates digital transformation

Prospect has expanded its editorial and commercial operations as it accelerates its path towards digital transformation.

The new members of the editorial team are:

 

Senior Editor

Alona Ferber has been a senior editor at the New Statesman since 2019, where she has worked on the magazine’s Spotlight policy section and print supplement, leading a team covering major UK policy issues, alongside her in-depth coverage of Israeli politics and the Gaza war. Before that she worked for four years as an editor at the Tony Blair Institute, working mainly on extremism and geopolitics. Previously she had been breaking news editor, head desk editor and reporter at the Haaretz newspaper in Tel Aviv.

 

Head of Digital Audience

Benjamin Clark is an Australian digital journalist and writer, now based in London. He joins Prospect after five years at The Conversation, the world’s leading outlet for academic journalism, where he filled various roles across social media, podcasting and more, most recently as audience editor. He regularly contributes to Crikey as a columnist and has been published in The Age and Kill Your Darlings among other outlets.

 

Editorial Fellow 

Imaan Irfan studied English at Cambridge and contributed to Varsity, the university student newspaper. She has worked as an editorial assistant at the publisher Fictional Frontiers and shadowed a PA reporter covering the Grenfell inquiry. She is a three times winner of the Young Muslim Writers Awards for poetry and prose. Imaan will be with Prospect for six months, supported by the Aziz Foundation.

The new members of the commercial team are:

 

Head of Marketing

Tom Bath has held senior marketing positions at several leading multi-national publishing businesses including Hachette and the Economist. Tom brings a wealth of experience that not only includes growing long-established core subscription businesses through better acquisition and improved retention, but also launching entrepreneurial start-ups, such as the Economist’s new “Economist Education” division, in over 100 countries around the world.

 

Head of Client Revenue

Wendy Miller is a commercial director who brings a wealth of experience and has held senior roles at publishers and events companies including the Guardian, Total Politics and Emap. She has an excellent track record of leading teams, implementing sales processes, hitting targets, driving new business, and managing diverse projects spanning sponsorship, events, digital media, and research.
